Frequently Answered Questions

How are the flowers packaged?

All of our Gift Bouquets are delivered in water for extra Freshness. Where you have chosen a bouquet, your gift will arrive beautifully presented in cellophane wrap finished with pretty ribbon, with a sachet of flower food attached. Baskets are delivered as seen.

Your personal message will be attached on an attractive greeting card.

What are “Little Extras”?

Many of our flowers and gifts have the option of adding a ‘little extra’ to your order. We have a range of fine chocolates, Champagnes, wines, Soft Toys (teddy Bears) and Helium filled balloons that compliment our hand-tied bouquets. A glass vase can be included with your purchase too. This will ensure your recipient can display their flowers as soon as they are received.

These items are available as additions to any floral gift (except sympathy orders) for delivery almost anywhere in Ireland and the UK after you have selected your floral item.

How will I know when my order has been delivered?

If you require confirmation of delivery please contact the Sales team on 1800 300003 or from outside Ireland call International + 353 1 2940198.

As deliveries are carried out over the full working day, we are often only able to provide confirmation of delivered gifts 24 hours after your chosen delivery date.

What time do I need to order by for same day delivery?

Orders placed BEFORE 2 pm (Irish Time) may be placed for same day delivery, Monday to Saturday. We do not normally operate a Sunday Delivery Service. Same Day Delivery service is available to most areas of Ireland and the UK. We can also achieve ‘Same Day’ in most of continental USA.

What happens if the recipient is not at home when the delivery is made?

If there is no one at home, when we attempt delivery, your gift will usually be left with a neighbour (or, a safe place at the recipients address). Otherwise, in the event there is no one available/willing to accept the delivery, your gift may be returned to a flowers.ie shop. In either event the driver will leave a calling card for the recipient to advise them of the action taken, the whereabouts of the gift or the shops contact name and telephone number. When contacted by the recipient, the florist will arrange re-delivery at a mutually agreed time. If the elapsed time is more than 24 hours we dispatch an entirely new bouquet.

Providing a mobile number for the recipient, when you place your order, will give the driver the opportunity to resolve any problem directly with the recipient.

Can flowers.ie deliver to hospitals?

Yes it is possible for our florists to make deliveries to hospitals. However we recommend that you check with the hospital before placing your order as many hospitals no longer allow flower deliveries. This is especially the case in Intensive Care wards, ICU.

When placing your order please ensure you include the recipient's surname, full address of the hospital and ward name or number on the delivery information section. In the case of New Arrivals, it is important to check the surname the ‘new mother’ is using.

Can I send flowers to a work/business address?

Yes - For deliveries to work or business addresses, please ensure you include the company name and full address of the recipient. We are unable to accept orders where full address information has not been supplied. Again, if you supply the recipients telephone number at work (and where possible a mobile no.) we will make every endeavour to ensure your gift reaches the intended recipient.

Many Businesses, for security reasons, will not allow us to deliver directly to individuals. Delivery to reception in such cases will be taken as successful.

Please note that orders will be delivered to the reception at the address supplied, the signature of the person receiving the order will be accepted as proof of delivery and fulfilment of the order.

Delivery to a Church for a funeral will be considered as fulfilment and the drivers sheet taken as ‘proof of delivery’.
